Star Conflict

Shooters lately seem to be all the rage in the free gaming realm. Sadly most of them are just a regurgitation of the same type of game just skinned a little differently. Thankfully, Star Conflict, is not one of these regurgitation’s. While the concept is simple, the execution can be difficult. Gaijan Entertainment, may have found their niche. With Star Conflict and War Thunder showing off what is capable for a flight simulation aerial combat game, they may be setting the bar higher for companies looking to jump into this genre. This is a VERY good thing.

Right out of the gate a player will find some familiar game elements, the ship tech tree, warring factions that a player can choose to do battle with or against, and a few other minor piece. Once a player really digs in though, there are so many little nuances that make the difference when it comes to this game. I do wish that the matching system took a little less time to get into a battle, but it is a small price to pay for the quality gameplay that is on the other end of that queue. Graphically the game is stunning and at times I found myself maneuvering around in an attempt to just see what was in the background, and with many of these elements there as actual obstacles, the environment itself quickly becomes a living part of the game.

Take a look at my full video gameplay review below and see for yourself what Star Conflict has to offer…

Pretty decent graphics, indeed. I don’t know how well I’d do at this kind of game, but it’s pretty fun to watch. I was good at flight fighting games on the Sega Genesis… and Trampoline Terror!

I’ve never really been one for sci-fi games, but a nice review nonetheless. 🙂

The game looks nice, but space is not my thing. That’s why I couldn’t play in EVE online even though it’s awesome.

Sure you won both your matches before you started streaming. 🙂 I wish I liked playing plane fighter games more. I like the idea of these kind of games but don’t enjoy playing them like I think I should,

The equipping the ships looks fun. Just not into the ship combat myself. I do like that you are not stuck with just one of the three factions.

You were wrong about exchanging ingame currency. What you were looking at is the item on the left the price on the right.

Struggling to not think of Eve whilst watching this. The inventory in even located in the alternative dropbox, with salvaged railguns, supposedly from space pew no less. It even calls the module box ‘fittings’.

A nice introduction to the game… a bit lack in the “review” aspect in the title. What are the areas of this game that are done good, and what are that aren’t so good?
