Wizardry Online

Wizardry Online, the free fantasy MMORPG from Sony Online Entertainment, is hoping to stir up a huge amount of nostalgia for old school table top and video game enthusiasts from the 80’s, all while introducing a new generation of gamers to what is a very storied franchise with deep and rich lineage. The fear of permadeath will immediately catch the eye of anyone looking to get into this game, but one will quickly find out that the fear is not as fully warranted as one thought, as permadeath only comes after a certain stage of progression, and only if one is not careful and very unlucky. The games soul system is quite unique, but could turn some players off. Another feature that could turn some players off are the controls, they really take a bit of getting use to, and I think the game could have done a better overall job of making sure that the controls during battle were more fluid and simple. There is afterall the chance you lose a character forever in the event that you die, so having combat controls that are clunky and unresponsive could really mean GAME OVER! PVP in the game is ample, and available anywhere, but be wary as players can quickly get a reputation for being a Player Killer, and be highlighted where ever they go for their nefarious actions. So, I suggest you take a look at my full gameplay review in the video below and you can then make your own decision on Wizardry Online.

Well, as I stated in the video, the permanent death thing isn’t exactly true. It is true that you can die permanently, but seeing me die would have only showed you the way you can actually resurrect. Under level 5 dying is pretty safe, after that it gets a bit more dangerous, and it doesn’t get really dangerous till much later in the game. But the permadeath is still there, just not so much in the early game.

when you die you run around in ghost form to find a holy statue. there are soul reapers and if one gets you then you soul is lost and you are perma dead. when you get to the statue you have a percentage risk of revival. if it fails you then you are perma dead. you can bribe the gods with items off your dead body that will be lost and gold as well. also if you are a criminal or more evil or steal alot that weighs against you.(yes you can rob and kill players.)

Nice video, thank you for making this. It helped me in my first hour of the game to figure out how to level, mapping, chest working and to get to the first dungeon.

Hi, I’ve been looking for a new game to play and came across your videos, just some feedback on them:

A half hour is too long. I don’t want to spend a half hour watching a review, and to be honest, there is a lot of room for cutting them down. I recommend editing out unnecessary parts. I do like your vidoes, but I spend quite a bit of time skipping past parts.

Still like what you’re doing. Liked each video i watched + subscribed.
